King of the World

What a start to a music album this, something completely different to what I was expecting, I was expecting a bit of cheesy pop music, and of course this is what this song is, but I cannot help but love it, there is a very good beat to the song, with nice lyrics, I could see this being used in some sort of advert with a couple on it! Nice start to the album, and you cannot deny Blue’s brilliant vocal capabilities.

You’re the Only One

I could play this song at my next dinner party, a very relaxing song, something I could easily chill to, I heard the beat and the lyrics and immediately thought of Bridget Jones Diary (a favourite of mine that I am not ashamed to share with you!) again, strong vocals in this, and I especially enjoyed the harmony within the chorus for this.

Home

This is a different style of song from the other two, a bit more pace, and a bit more of a sharp beat, I have to say very catchy also, I just know I will be singing “I need you back home home home” for days to come, in fact I may just do this at my next karaoke attempt. I very much enjoyed the strong but soft vocals, which was a contrast from the song instrumental, but boy did it work well. Well done on a great song, future number one? Wouldn’t bet against it.

If You don’t Know Me By Now

A nice version of the classic song we all know and love! It does take you back in time, and it’s really nice to see Blue do an old classic, and I have to say they do it very well, the vocals are definitely as strong as the original, even a bit of a tear jerker!

Nothing Like You

This may be a guilty pleasure of mine, a song in which we can all probably relate to in one way or another, another fast paced song, with a good range of vocals being produced. A nice song.

Flashback

Well this is definitely one we can relate to! A broken heart is portrayed in this one, but as far as songs go, I was very happy to listen to this one, and one that I had a smile to (goodness me I must seem evil at this!!) the reason for the smile is how well I think this song was written, it is very catchy, and the lyrics were quite memorable as well.

I Don’t Wanna Talk About It

Oh guys, you are pulling the tearjerkers aren’t you!!! But you are pulling them well it has to be said, a very soft song this one is, I really enjoyed the backing music, as it wasn’t too heavy and was tasteful, and the vocals again were superb.

Special

Clicking my fingers within the first few seconds of this song, clearly it was written about me, “you got something special”? alas, a few lyrics later they described the perfect woman! This is a proper feel good song, I would sense people singing along to this. Another catchy song with a very uplifting beat.

Hang On In There Baby

Another upbeat song here, got a bit of a 60’s ring to it, which is thoroughly enjoyable, I can sense there were smiles when this one was sung, and it was sung very well.

Endless Love

Loved the piano beat in this, this is definitely being played at weddings for a first dance, some very lovely lyrics in this song. A song about true love, sung by a band who have made this album so very good. What a brilliant album this was, I thoroughly enjoyed every song, not a weak song in the entire album, once again Blue have shown why they are such a popular band. The album has a range of songs from catchy, to sad and ending on a beautiful song about marriage and proposals.  Well done Blue, it is nice to see you back, although you don’t seem to have aged much and still all look very good ( this is thoroughly unfair on the rest of us!!!)

We would have liked to have seen more songs on the album however overall we gave it:
 4 stars
